Stress- Free in Three
Stress is the root cause of I would say 99% of dis-ease in the body. I know there are some who may want to attribute it to genetics and family history, but I would continue to argue it is stress.
You may even be thinking I am not that stressed, or nothing is stressing me out but when you really take a sober inventory of the Fusion Five: Physical, Nutritional, Emotional, Environmental and Spiritual aspects of your health, you will likely find otherwise.
I am just going to touch on a few ways in which stress may be wreaking havoc on your health in each of the categories.
Physical: not enough movement and a sedentary lifestyle causes stress on the body. Our bodies are designed to move in multiple directions and multiple ways everyday.
Nutritional: if we are eating foods that our body is struggling to digest or we have a sensitivity or allergy to then it is causing stress within the body and the digestive system.
Emotional: suppressing emotions instead of feeling them and sharing them keep them stuck in our fascia, the connective tissue, which creates stickiness, immobility and movement dysfunction which ultimately is creating stress in the body.
Environmental: this can be connected to the relationships in our environments, as well as chemical pollutants. These both can create stress in the body. With chemical pollutants in particular, the body must extra nutrients to support detoxification pathways. If your body isn’t detoxifying, then these chemicals are getting stored in your tissues.
Spiritual: this could be prayer, meditation, mindfulness, a relationship with God or a Higher Power of your understanding . I personally believe having a spiritual practice to free oneself of worry, to become present is imperative and possibly even foundational for the above. Neglecting this creates stress in the body. Many turn to outside sources such as TV, social media, drinking, drugs, etc. to fill this void. These too and too much of any good thing causes stress in the body.
When you take an inventory of these five areas, where do you need work?
